Over 20 engineering and degree colleges to vie for top honours

Over 20 engineering and degree colleges from the three coastal districts will be fighting it out in the day-long competition for the overall championship in The Hindu Eplus Club Challenge – 2011 to be held at Raghu Engineering College, Dakamarri on Sunday. The contest is being held in association with Raghu Educational Institutions and Conduira. The competition would comprise events such as quiz, group discussion, extemporary public speaking, website designing, collage-making and English skits.
The Minister of State for Human Resource Development D. Purandeswari will be the chief guest. Vice-Chancellor of JNTU-Kakinada Allam Appa Rao will be the guest of honour, and the State Bureau Chief of The Hindu S. Nagesh Kumar will be the special guest for the valedictory function.
In the morning, Assistant Collector Kartikeya Misra will inaugurate the session in the presence of the Chairman of Raghu Educational Institutions K. Raghu, Directors of Conduira Md. Abdullah, P.V. Rama Sasank and Deepti Abdullah, and Deputy Editor of The Hindu from Hyderabad K. Srinivas Reddy.

Apart from individual and team prizes in each event, the overall team champion and the runners-up would carry home trophies and cash prizes of Rs.10,000 and Rs.5,000 each respectively.
The Eplus clubs that would fight it out are Taksh (Lendi Institute of Engineering and Technology), IT-GMRIT (GMR Institute of Information and Technology), ANITS-Warriors (Anil Neerukonda Institute of Technology and Sciences), Pragnya (Pragati Engineering College), Dazzling Diamonds (MVGR College of Engineering), Pearls (Raghu Engineering College), Dexters (Raghu Institute of Technology), Thunderbirds (Miracle Educational Society and Group of Institutions), Challengers (Aditya Institute of Technology and Management), V.S. Krishna Government Degree College, GIET-Challengers (Godavari Institute of Engineering and Technology), Sahana (MR PG College), Deligents (Sri Prakash College of Engineering), Sparks (PRISM College), Dietians (Dadi Institute of Engineering and Technology), Digitalk (Vignan Institute of Engineering for Women), Glorious Legends (Visakha Institute of Technology and Science), Chargers (Prime) and OJAS (GVP College of Engineering from Women) .
The judges panel comprises Suresh Betha from Drona Consultancy, G. Rambabu and V. Sri Kiran Babu from Aptech, A.S. Prasad and Shalini Gupta from CTC Communication, Sangita Sehgall and Shyla Kurma from The Launch Pad, B. Sai Lakshmi from Government Polytechnic, Sanjay Das from Career Launch, Prof. D.V.R. Murthy from AU, Prof. P.S. Avadhani from AUCOE, Kishan Kaza from GITAM University, Nandi Awardee Suneel Kumar Reddy and Cinematographer K. Vijay Kumar.
The inaugural session is scheduled to begin at 9.30 a.m. and the valedictory is scheduled for 3.30 p.m.
